Neil Ackerman, MBA, MS, and PMP, is the Head, Advanced Technologies, Global Supply Chain, Middle East and Africa for Johnson and Johnson across Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices and Consumer Products. Currently in a Global Expatriate leadership assignment that is based in Israel. In this leadership position in the Middle East and Africa, Neil is leading a global team while creating the holistic eco-system focused on collaborative partnerships in support of broad innovation for the global supply chain. Recently, Neil, an industry expert on Fulfillment and Marketplaces, is featured in a best-selling book, Always Day One, focused on Technology Titans and making history at Amazon.
Prior to this role, Neil was the Senior Director, Global Supply Chain Enterprise Plan and Innovation at Johnson and Johnson. This includes expertise on Machine Learning and Cognitive Automation. Neil held various positions at Amazon.com, including Strategy Head for Fulfillment by Amazon and the General Manager and Inventor of the Amazon Small and Light global program. In addition, Neil was the Global Director of Integrated Supply Chain, eCommerce and technology innovation at Mondelez International. In this role, Neil was recognized in global publications for inventing the Direct to Consumer Supply Chain Models. Neil is an expert on eCommerce and supply chain and is published, given multiple keynotes globally on the eCommerce Flywheel and its impact on the supply chain.
Neil holds 8 US patents and is quoted, interviewed and written about in WSJ, Bloomberg, Inc., Forbes, Business Week, CNBC and numerous international publications. Neil is a winner of numerous leadership awards including the prestigious Amazon.com “Just Do It” Award and is a Distinguished Visitor for the US Navy. Currently, Neil sits on various Board of Directors including Solstice (a 400+ retail store premium sunglass corporation) and multiple start-ups globally including Flexe, Project Verte, and OneRail. He is a graduate of University of Richmond, UVA and MIT, and he holds a PMP, MBA and MS. He is active contributor to academic networks at MIT and UVA. Neil is married for many years with 3 children and a goofy dog!
